Hello! I'm Lurel White. I grew up in southern Alberta, Canada, went to college in central Utah, lived in Spokane, Washington, and are now back in Utah. I'm married to the helpful guy who holds up my quilts for pictures (you may see his toes now and then). We have an energetic toddler girl and a super chill baby boy (who you might see modelling some clothes!). There's also our big black dog-- but she doesn't help much.
I started sewing on my mom's machine when I was four years old. I've been watching my grandma make quilts for as long as I can remember. My grandpa was a talented woodworker who let me be his little assistant. My family is full of creators, and it must have rubbed off on me!
Most of my time is spent with my family. Some of it is spent running and hiking. But a big chunk of it is spent sewing and creating!

White and Bright Design began in 2012 when my husband and I were newlyweds in college. I was just starting to get into quilting. It can be an expensive hobby-- and we were starting to have a surplus of quilts! I decided to open up an Etsy shop so that I could share my love of sewing with others and be able to continue my hobby.
For the first year I did custom and ready-made quilts. I took a little break after I had my daughter, then started adding children's clothing to the shop as well. I now sell online as well as at local craft shows. I love what I do, and I'm so grateful for the support that makes it possible!
